Urban Adventurer: Le Village Du Pere Noel

Looking for a fun day trip for the whole family? Then look no further than Le Village Du Pere Noel!

With two small children in tow (ages 3 and 5), we headed to Val-David, where the real Santa Claus lives, and the kids were screaming in delight as we pulled into the parking lot. We were immediately greeted with big smiles from their welcoming staff, who explained the activities that they offer and how to get around their site. Remember: When you come here in the summertime, you only need to bring three things: a bathing suit, some sunblock, and, if you want, a picnic lunch (they offer food on the premises, but they also allow you to bring outside food in).

First up: Water play! From the splash pad features to the waterslides, there was something fun for kids of all ages. There were smaller, less intimidating waterslides for younger children (who can be accompanied by mom and dad), or larger ones for the bigger kids (up to around age 8). There was also a great wading pool for lounging and relaxing.

Next we checked out the adventure trails. There are an amazing 20 stations where children can climb, pull themselves up, slide, squeeze through… in short, have fun and challenge themselves, while burning all that energy! If your child has dreams of being one of Santa's elves, they can practice their chimney- and stair-climbing skills here.

After a quick bite to eat we went to the 1:30 magic show starring Jeremy James, the Village's in-house magician, who was animated and really kept the kids engaged, following that up with a visit to see the farm animals. We saw goats, sheep, miniature horses, ponies and pigs, and the kids were thrilled!

And finally, how could one go to Le Village Du Pere Noel without a visit with the big man himself? This is where the real Santa lives and summers on his off-season. His house was a magical place that was the perfect ending to a perfectly lovely family day.

At each area of the park, we were greeted by the friendliest staff, who welcomed our children and encouraged them to do the activities (even if they were intimidated at first). When my oldest mustered up the courage to climb the treehouse, he had a staff worker right there cheering him on. He was so proud of himself when he finally did it!

I would recommend this incredible place to all of my mommy and daddy friends. There's something for everyone at Village Du Pere Noel, whether it's adventure, relaxation, fun, or all of the above. It's totally worth the drive to Val-David!
