More crafts we love

As you all know, we love us some crafts! And lately we've been experimenting with all kinds of projects. Here are some more crafts we love...

Melted crayon rock art. I bought some flat black rocks at the dollar store and put them in a pot of boiling water for four minutes. Then, we "coloured" them with crayons, only when the crayons touch the hot rocks, they melt, allowing you to swirl around the melted crayon colours. The results are very cool.

Hidden messages. Use a white crayon on white paper to draw pictures or write secret messages. Then paint over it with different watercolours. It will reveal what's hidden underneath.

LEGO marble maze. Use a flat LEGO building platform and some longer pieces to make a marble maze. How wide should it be to fit a marble? And how do you keep it from rolling off the platform? Let your little ones figure it out. They will!

Shadow drawings. In the evening when the sun is setting, your shadow is the longest. Line some plastic animals up on the floor and let them cast their shadow on a white piece of paper. Kids will love to trace the shadows and colour them in.

Shrinky dinks. You can buy clear Shrinky Dink plastic sheets at the dollar store and draw on them, then shrink them in the oven. Punch a small hole in your art before shrinking them so you can turn your creations into keychains.
