Makeup By Marla: My current makeup bag

A recurrent question that I've been asked lately is, "Marla, what are the products you use for your everyday makeup routine?" I do admit that about every 3 to 6 months or so, I run the risk of adopting a product and giving it current daily makeup routine status, but there are some staples that rarely, if ever, change. Since you asked, here is a peek at/snapshot of the contents in my current everyday makeup bag, aka “My Currents”.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow 24 Hour Foundation gives me incredible all day coverage despite it being a pharmacy brand. I apply it with a soft dampened foundation brush or makeup sponge and even up the application by blotting and blending the product with a damp beauty blender. My shade is #207 Sand Beige.

When it comes to concealer I vacillate between using either Shape Tape by Tarte in the shade Fair Beige and the old school Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer #115 Ivory. I often use a combination of the two, as in unison these become a concealing superpower!

Makeup Brushes:

The Morphe M433 Pro Firm Blending Fluff Brush is what I often use to apply eyeshadow in the outer V area and for all over blending to soften harsh shadow lines.
The Morphe M321 Bullet Crease Brush or the ELF Crease Brush are my go-tos for shadow application that is more defined in the mid-crease or inner eye corner area.

The Wet N Wild Flat Top Brush is perfectly shaped for precision bronzer application when defining my cheek bone and jawline. The M510 by Morphe is my fave Highlighter Brush. This brush has loosely packed bristles that lightly dust on a glow with a uniform natural finish. Morphe's M439 is my Foundation Brush of choice. Its bristles are soft and move easily to distribute the product evenly. My E39 Buff And Blend Eyeshadow Brush by Sigma Beauty features a short round dense brush head that blends colors softly yet precisely onto the lid for a gradient effect.

Eyebrow Gear:

I start my brows by outlining them with the Marcelle Accent Eyebrow Crayon in the color Brun Tendre. I fill in my brows using ka-Brow! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color by Benefit Cosmetics in color #4. I just love the packaging of this quality eyebrow gel with a convenient wonderful brow defining brush packed into its cap! The product stays all day and blends beautifully.

Kat Von D 24 Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade in Medium Brown is another great product that I started using lately to fill in my brows. This product now comes in a host of very funky brow colors including bright purple for those of you who wish to step outside of the ordinary. I opted for the conventional brown tone and find this product really blends out well to allow for a faded effect at the inner brow region closer to the nose...which is the desired fashion forward Fleek brow look.

I line my top lash and create my liner wing using the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner Pen in the shade Intense Black. This is by far the best liquid eyeliner on the market. A close second and runner-up I sometimes use is the Tattoo Liner by Kat Von D in the shade Trooper.

My waterline liner of choice is either 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the color Perversion by Urban Decay or Marcelle's Powder Eyeliner in the color Jet Black. Both of these products once placed in the water line stay there for hours without kick back and a blurring effect in the sensitive inner eye area.

I outline the inner corner of my eye using the Sport Addicted Waterproof Liner by Pupa in the dark brown shade #002.

I have been lining my lower lash line with various shades of eyeshadow, but when I opt for using a pencil for the lower lash line area, I am recently gravitating towards Autumn reds and burgundy pencil liners such as the Kleancolor Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in either Hot Red or Cabarnet or the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Alkaline.

My top most used eyeshadow palettes lately have been the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette (long wearing gorgeous shadow heaven), the new Huda Beauty Obsessions Mini Palette from her new Gemstone Collection in Amethyst (purple and pink ecstasy) and the recently released holiday themed Gingerbread Spice Eye Shadow Palette by Too Faced (a warm and red toned gingerbread scented plethora of mega pigment and blendability).

My latest top mascara is the blackest mascara I have ever owned! Maybelline New York's Gigi Hadid Dual Ended Fiber Mascara in Black is the bomb! This mascara has a an applicator with white fibers on one end, (which I never use... as they always fall into my eyes or mix into the mascara portion of the tube and clog it) and a phenomenal Black mascara on the other which I use by itself. This black mascara on its own makes my lashes pop! Since this is limited edition, I plan to get my hands on quite a few before they all disappear! I only wish Maybelline would offer us this black mascara formulation on its own in a larger format. It is absolutely divine!

The faux lashes that I am in love with lately are by Kiss from their higher-end Lash Couture Triple Push-Up Collection. These lashes are extremely voluminous and 3D and when cared for properly can be worn over and over. I like these lashes in the glam full on dramatic style called Camisole

The best and only eyelash adhesive I use is the House Of Lashes Brush On Adhesive in the shade Clear. This wonderful product holds my lashes in place from day to night and has a very beautiful scent to boot!

I currently love and only use the Liquid Blush by NARS in the color Orgasm. This blends on above my bronzer like a charm using only my fingertips and stays all day.

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Highlighter in the shade Goddess Of Faith is my recent highlighter of choice. This wonderful makeup brand from the UK boasts this heart-shaped pressed powder highlighter that gives me a stay all day perfect rose gold glow. I apply it using a stippling or highlighter brush. The areas that I concentrate on are the tops of my cheekbones, bridge and tip of my nose and above my Cupid's bow.

My Holy Grail bronzer is definitely the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer by Too Faced. This cocoa infused and deliciously scented bronzer can go on naturally or be built up for a more dramatic chiseled effect. I do use other bronzers from time to time, but always seem to gravitate back to this one as it is excellent.

I have been lining my lips lately with Bite Beauty Lip Pencil in color #034 which is a perfect Plum Rose shade for this season.

My currently most worn lipstick is Brave by M.A.C., a creamy pink mauve with a satin finish made famous by Kylie Jenner. This shade is a natural looking plum/pink hue for the Fall.

My now lip gloss that is the perfect topper for my lipstick color is the Ulta Beauty Tinted Juice Infused Lip Oil in the color Tea Rose. Tastes delish and gives just the right hint of color and shine.

I set my makeup using Fix Plus by M.A.C., my all-time favorite setting spray.

Until next time my Autumn Awesome Angels, Remember You Are Gorgeous and Rock Your Beauty!
