A bit of an older title but nonetheless a great read, the backstory to this book is just an intriguing. Beloved children's author Robert Munsch (the author of "Love You Forever"), wrote this story for a girl named Sarah who gave him a picture she had drawn of a lighthouse. The picture inspired him to create this beautiful story. Definitely a classic that should be on every child's shelf.

Activities to go with this title:

- You can make your own little lighthouse with differently-sized clay pots.

- For littler readers, this footprint lighthouse is too cute!

- Build a lighthouse with various coloured paper pieces and see how each one is different.
