Family Activity Of The Week: Fall activities to kick off the season

Fall has finally arrived! Time to break out the flannel and cozy slippers and fleece throws and apple cider. Fall is the perfect season to enjoy in Montreal, from the abundance of apple picking to taking in the beautiful scenery, you'll find slews of wonderful family-friendly activities to do in autumn. Here are some ideas:

- Go apple or pumpkin picking. You can find great areas just outside the city to fill baskets and pails with ripe, crisp Quebec apples, or seek out that perfect pumpkin for Halloween. Go on a hayride, or wander in corn mazes. If you can't make it to an orchard or pumpkin patch, then take the family to a local market and get local produce there.

- Take a fall-themed cooking class. Various Provigo locations are offering fun hands-on cooking courses for kids of all ages. You can make caramel apples, squash and apple soup, and more.

- Attend a fall festival. They're being held in areas like Rougemont, Upper Canada Village and Mont Sutton.
