Activity of the Week: Eco-grazing - Sheep at Edgewater Park

Edgewater Park, located along Lake Saint-Louis near Pointe-Claire Village, are hosting a group of six sheep as part of an eco-grazing project.

Every day from June 11 to July 20, between 10am and 8pm, six sheep will be in a temporary enclosure to… take care of the park! As they graze on grass, they will help maintain the park in a completely natural manner. And there are also some fun activities planned around the sheep, like:

July 5: Family picnic, followed by a children’s show (in French)
July 12 : Yoga with sheep – adults (bring your own yoga mat)
July 19: Shearing and spinning demonstration

In case of rain, storms, and heat waves, the sheep will be placed in a shelter and will therefore not be in the park, and activities will take place at the Noël-Legault Community Centre, located at 245 Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road.

Feed can be purchased every Saturday for $0.25 to feed the sheep.

A shepherd will be at the park at all times to watch over the flock.
